City of LA Stormwater Program: Partnership with Home Improvement Stores

SGA has worked closely with managers and employees of home improvement stores (e.g. Home Depot, Lowes) as a way to distribute the stormwater pollution prevention message, including information about where customers can properly dispose of their household hazardous waste. Through this approach, the employees and managers effectively become program messengers for the issue. SGA’s partnership with the home improvement stores has included employee trainings, point-of-purchase posting, customer information booths, informational sheets for new employee manuals as well as planning and facilitation of DIY workshops.
